2010 Oscars Hairstyles on March 7, 2010
"I feel like a princess today," Miley Cyrus told Entertainment Tonight. "My hairstylist cried today when he did my hair." Miley (17) is all dressed up in a strapless silk tulle champagne dress (Jenny Packham).
Cameron Diaz (37) with glamorous long hair in an original evening gown (Oscar de la Renta) on the red carpet. This year had some fabulous gowns but didn't offer too many unique hairstyles. The majority of ladies had updos. Most looks were simple and conservative.
Anika Noni Rose (37) looked classy in this romantic raised black hair style at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. It is fun and formal.
Best Supporting Actress Mo'Nique may have been the only lady to wear a flower in her hair. It had special meaning. "The reason why I have on this royal blue dress is because it's the color that Hattie McDaniel wore in 1940 when she accepted her Oscar. The reason why I have this gardenia in my hair: it is the flower that Hattie McDaniel wore when she accepted her Oscar."
Mariska Hargitay (46) enjoying her Oscar experience. The mature celebrity contrasted her simple half updo with a large dazzling Fred Leighton diamond necklace.
Kathy Ireland (46) was a co-host for the Oscar Pre-Show on the red carpet to introduce the stars and discuss Oscar fashion. Her hair is refined and frames her face, but everything lifted just a little higher could have been slightly better.
Anna Kendrick (24) with a half-up half-down formal hairdo. Her pale pink evening dress (Elie Saab Haute Couture) was one of the most elegant and best of the night. "I never thought I'd wear pink to the Oscars," she said, "but here I am." Probably the prettiest of the night, and a great choice for 2010 prom.
Demi Moore (47) made the Oscars Best-Dressed List with this gorgeous layered gown (Atelier Versace). She also had matching heels with her neutral silk organza dress. Fashion critics seem to think one of the worst dresses was worn by Jennifer Lopez because it looked like bubble wrap! Charlize Theron had the most cringeworthy and controversial dress; it's already been torn to shreds by bloggers.
Kate Winslet (34) in strapless silver evening gown (Yves Saint Laurent) with Tiffany jewels. Kate's hair was done by Renato Campora, a Frederic Fekkai hairstylist. He said he was inspired by Veronica Lake and the design was created using a one-inch curling iron.
