Vicky McClure (28) glows in her new pixie hairstyle. It's very short on the sides--virtually a buzzcut there--but surprisingly thick at the crown--almost like a high top. At first it appears out of balance but then it's quite interestingly pleasing. The very fine spikes take it from plain to cool. The key to pixies is to add a touch of elegance in some configuration and she succeeds in this respect with the spiky section. The fringe-free look is a nice thought but hers could be tidied up a little for a perfectly smooth hairline.
Tamsin Greig (44) has a mature pixie with gold highlights in her slightly gray hair. The cut is better than the color combination unless you like the gold and silver style. It doesn't seem quite convincing perhaps because there's also black (or very dark brown) which makes it rather "busy" with her type of texture. It could be just right with only two colors or a less fluffed top.
Then and Now
Judith Godreche (38) traded in her sexy bob for a cute pixie. She also went from blonde to brunette. Her bangs are gone and so are all the layers. That's what you call a serious makeover, but it's much more difficult to recognize her, especially with the new tan! Spring or summer could be the ideal seasons to make the leap of faith for this new hairstyle, but you may prefer to reverse the hue change and go blonde for the summer.
