Marley Shelton with Very Short New Edgy Hair on Special Occasion

Beautiful Marley Shelton tried a short hairstyle radically different from anything she had tried before, and what other Hollywood girls were wearing at the time.

However, an edgy short haircut very similar to it was featured on the cover of a hair magazine one month later (see sidebar).

Any hairstyle with an asymmetrical fringe is always very risky, but if you're just tired with straight bangs, what are your alternative options?

This hairdo is all about contrast. It is very short on the sides and very long at the bangs (one side). It is dark on top and very light at the front.

Bright blonde highlights on the extra-long fringe make this cut pop (if the design itself hadn't already).

If you have a wild side, can handle so many layers, don't mind the extra maintenance, or the additional attention this cut is bound to give you, then you might just like it.

Keep in mind, though, if after a short time you find it's too much, to make it uniform or symmetrical again, it's going to have to be cut extremely short--basically into a pixie cut.
