Hair Polls

A few years ago, many online polls about hair were done here at Beautiful Hairstyles. Because there were so many visitors and it is so easy to set up small polls, the opportunity to get public opinion was seized. In fact, this section gradually grew to where now it may be the largest collection of public opinion polls about hair online.

Whereas other hair sites usually just polled about specific hairstyles, rating looks from one star to five stars, those and many other more interesting questions were asked.

There was a wide range in the number of ladies polled for each poll. There wasn't a total limit or automatic cutoff point. Usually it was at least 500 people, but sometimes it was more than 2,000 votes.

None of the polls were done in a standard "scientific" way, of course. They were just simple questions asked of anyone who happened to visit the site without checking age, background, etc. Naturally most all the visitors were women; one poll showed the majority were under 25.

Some of the polls were fairly serious whereas others were fun. The question about tipping your hairdresser is important and, in fact, unsure visitors still come here to see how much they should tip.

For fun we were able to see if anybody had skipped school or work because of their hair. Indeed some have. A large number of girls admit anonymously they have flirted with their hair.

Not surprising

Nobody could be too surprised at the negative response to Donald Trump's infamous hairdo--including Mr. Trump himself. Even Mrs. Trump, a supermodel, hasn't been able to straighten out his hair yet.

The results of various polls confirmed suspicions.

Hairdressers are four times more likely to snip off too much than too little hair.

Hats are indeed used as a popular way to cover up bad hair days. (Even celebrities admit as much.)

A good hair day, on the other hand, can make your day. But there's work to do. Far too many women have bad hair days for a full month every year (total).

Hair, we confirmed, can be the source of great stress. It is very significant for confidence, and when it's in poor shape, girls don't just think they hate their hair, they'll actually say it out loud.

Surprising

What results were surprising? Perhaps the most unexpected responses were to the questions about jealousy and pet peeves.

A huge number of women get jealous about hot hair they see. "I want her hair!"

Many women can't stand it when they see roots showing. Apparently it's the cardinal sin of hair care. You probably won't be able to hide it, because it's usually noticed.

Another somewhat unexpected poll result was about the current issue that is most upsetting. The vast majority of polled women said they were bored with their hair.

Note: other women say they get bored with it, too, or even offended. The biggest pet peeve of a whopping 11% of girls is when other girls have hair that is "too boring." We expect a little effort. This isn't necessarily unreasonable when you consider others see our hair more than we do.

We were able to test a slogan used in advertising. A very significant number of girls admitted when their hair looks great nothing else matters.

Conclusion

There is a lot to learn and consider here. Let us highlight just one thing for male readers who may not know it...

When a girl you know gets her hair done, be sure to complement her. Two thirds will be offended if you don't notice the new haircut. Be observant. Don't be quiet.

All polls are now being reopened.

Thank you to all the young ladies who participated in the polls. You helped create new information that is fun and interesting for future visitors.
