Why are they so popular?
One reason is hair without any different lengths at all can look really plain and boring. Can you imagine if all girls only ever had hair that was all the same length? It's a natural look, sure, but it is easy to get bored with it quickly, because it looks too simple and very old-fashioned. When you look at images from the 70s era, it seems like nobody knew you could layer your hair. In that decade especially, a lot of haircuts looked awful.
