Can you spot a new celebrity hair trend in 2008 after looking at the four new pictures above? It looks as if layered hairstyles are in fashion, doesn't it?

Supermodel Cindy Crawford, actress Eva Mendes, singer Katharine MacPhee, and the lovely Morgan Fairchild all have long layered hairstyles now.

These are recent photos of all these famous women in New York on the same day (May 7, 2008). The hair fashion in other cities across America (and in other countries) could be different, but long layered hair always looks good. It's a classic modern look.

There are different kinds of fresh layered haircuts. Cindy has razored layers that look soft. Whereas Eva has more choppy layers in the more popular modern style. And it seems Katharine's layers are razored in some places and more choppy in others.
 

Rachel Revival?

The popularity of layered hair started to explode with Jennifer Aniston's Rachel Haircut in 1995. Even in 2008, while many women indulge in the bob haircut craze, it's still seen on CNN reporters like Gerri Willis and Alina Cho.

What's now in fashion?

Below is a new hairstyles magazine for 2008 (August) called Hair Winners 2008--the best of the year so far--from Short Hair magazine. It's for sale on newsstands now. Click the link below for a closer look.

As you can see, the one girl at the left in the middle of the cover has a graduated layered haircut where the layering starts at her full bangs and continues in fine fashion to just above her chin, and then starts again a little way past her chin. It's a cool and edgy haircut for teens in 2008.

Page 20 has "The Top 20 Celebrity Styles." These include pictures of Hayden Panettiere (lush waves); Katie Holmes (bob with bangs); Katherine Heigl (medium haircut with curls); Paris Hilton (black headband); Agyness Deyn (very short with straight blunt bangs); and Minka Kelly (very pretty red highlights in brown hair).
