Jennifer Aniston Warns Women About The Risks of Hair ExtensionsJennifer Aniston said her hair was a disaster area for many months after an ill-advised decision to get hair extensions fitted soon after Friends ended in 2004, the Daily Telegraph in Australia reported. At the same time she was a celebrity hair model promoting hair products for L'Oreal, which earned her "$5 million between 1999 and 2005." "I wanted a different look, so I cut my hair," Aniston told Harper's Bazaar. "Obviously, I wasn't thinking clearly. So I decided to have extensions, never knowing that you end up with 400 things in your head that cause your hair to break off. Nothing destroys your hair faster than extensions. It's taken a year and a half to grow out." "Nancy O'Dell, Kate Beckinsale and Christina Aguilera have all been seen with temporary bald patches caused by extensions," the Telegraph added. At a time when hair extensions are becoming increasingly popular, it is important to note that they could give you more trouble than they are worth--possibly months of grief following only one fitting. Not all hair extensions, however, will cause hair damage. Much depends on the quality of glue or product (if any) used to attach them, and the skill of the professional connecting them.
