Britney Spears Cuts Off All Her Hair in Sudden Extreme Makeover

Britney Spears, during a troubled phase in her life, shocked the world in early 2007 when she lopped off all her hair.

This from the blonde bombshell whose career was built around her sexy image, including her beautiful blonde hair. The cut was by the girl who supposedly was attempting to kickstart her career again after a double pregnancy hiatus.

The hairdresser at the hair salon she visited refused to cut it off. She questioned her, making her ask herself if she really wanted to lose her locks. Would she still feel the same way the next morning?

Britney wouldn't budge. She took matters into her own hands, grabbed the shears, and removed it all herself. The cameras were rolling. Photographed with shears in hand, she was instantly nicknamed "Britney Shears."

The rumours about the reasons for the drama were several. She reportedly said she was tired of people touching her.

Another rumour was that she had bald spots on her head from chronic use of hair extensions.

Another theory discussed on usenet was that she cut off her hair to evade drugs tests. Without hair, there could be no sample. The worry was that if she failed a drug test, she could lose custody of her kids in her divorce battle with Kevin Federline.
