If you are planning your prom, you've picked out your prom dress, and you are looking for the perfect prom hairstyle to match, this would be a good place to start.

All of the hairstyles are hairstyles of teens for teens. (None are celebrities.)

It offers not only a gallery of prom hairstyles pictures, but also a step-by-step guide for each updo hairstyle, 10-14 steps.

Each guide not only has text of the how-to steps, it has small pictures for many of the steps to accompany the explanation. Basically, all you could ask for in a prom hairdo guide.

The updo photo quality is high, as is the text. The instructions are easy to understand. All the technical details were written by Karen Shelton, an experienced and successful writer who has been published in various magazines and is the founder of the popular HairBoutique.com website.

There is not a huge selection of prom hairstyles from which to choose, only 20, but there are plenty of different formal updo hairstyles to give you ideas to create your own unique prom hairstyle, borrowing ideas from one or more of them.

Each of the 20 hairstyles is a generous full magazine page. The additional pictures offer photo angles ranging from your basic front shot to side shots and back shots.

This particular issue of Quick and Easy Updos was Summer 2003. It is not clear if more will be published, as there is no sign of a fall issue. It may only come out once a year, each summer, early enough for prom.

It is well worth the price, especially since there is almost nothing else available out there. Teen magazines and prom magazines and wedding magazines occasionally have a small updo hairstyles guide, a few examples of about five or so hairstyles, but not 20.

Ironically, Quick and Easy Updos is not quick and easy to find, so you may want to try ebay, or wait a while and look for next year's edition where this issue was found: bamm.com. Lots of other hairstyles magazines are available there which are not even sold on Amazon.com, so it's still worth a visit, even if you don't find Quick and Easy Updos.
