Gallery of Simple and Edgy Celebrity Bob Hairstyles for Ladies

Flattering pictures of classic and modern bob haircuts for girls from 2003 to 2008...

Bob haircuts are still in fashion

Radha's look is round and very full at the cheeks.

Jaime Pressly (30) in bob hairstyle with heavy bangs. Length is mid-way between short (chin length) and medium (shoulders). Beautiful, lustrous, short, straight blonde hair.

Gretchen Mol (35) in 2008 with a 1940s bob hair design. The position of the parting is often a good clue to 40s styles; they are usually to the side. Gretchen wore this hairstyle the night she performed in a short play at the theater in New York. Quite charming, isn't it? It has more volume on one side and looks a little formal for a day look.

Agata Gotova (30) lightened her brown hair and now has this cute chin-length bob haircut that is very lightly flippy on both sides. A section that frames her face on one side is partially highlighted. (June 2008). It's an easy summer style that flatters females of most ages.

Sara Rue (29) with a curly red bob in April '08. The cute star has changed her haircolor and texture since last year (see below). That's a delicious shade of dark mahogany!

2007 Short Hair Designs

Sara Rue (28) looks adorable in her new bob with bangs. Actually, it's a new cut and color. She was a redhead not too long ago; now she has the prettiest golden blonde haircolor. It looks perfect with her animal print dress. Sara looks so healthy is this wonderful portrait; she has a perfect complexion.

Mandy Bruno (23) with a medium bob hairstyle. Nice thick brown hair with some sexy highlighting (red and blonde). Notice how a great bob can enhance a radiant smile.

Natasha Henstridge (29) wearing a very short bob and little black dress for a night out. Bobs don't get much shorter than this. Ultra cute and looks fine for a gal with a small head. Very simple but also sexy.

Natalie Portman (23) wearing a messy curly short bob with piecey fringe. A little on the frizzy side but still a cute look. Best as a casual style unless you "clean it up" a bit by controlling the frizz and removing the bangs.

A hip bob that is diagonal forward but also probably fashion forward. Bangs are supposed to be big in fall 2008 to winter 2009, and if bobs are still in fashion then (as they probably will be), this could be popular. It has the distinct Victoria Beckham look with long hair at the front and short at the back but it has a different fringe. Although this dark brunette hair model's bangs are short, they are very finely cut by a skilled hairdresser. A short fringe really does need a skilled hand or you can get a bad haircut that won't go away. (What can you do with short bangs?)

Round-faced hair model wearing round bowlcut bob with short fringe and strong red color. It's always risky to try a bowl haircut, especially if you have a round face, because you can look like a monk, but somehow this pretty European girl with high cheek bones manages to pull it off. The bright red certainly helps "lift" the very basic style to make it fresh and wearable. This is a haircut to totally open up your face.

Bob Hairstyles for Kids

Bobs are great short hairstyles for children and especially because they are now in fashion for adults.

Little Ashlyn Sanchez (10 years old) with a cute bob (June 2008). She's a child actress (The Happening).

Dakota Fanning (10) with a neat jaw-length bob haircut. The fine styling right near the ends looks almost feathered and very pretty.

Another cute look is mother and daughter both with bobs.

Q. What face shape do you need to look good in a bob hairstyle?

A. "Oval-shaped faces," says Hairstyling magazine, "can wear almost any hairstyle with success, but cuts that curve and bend around the features look especially pretty because they add a little width to the narrow face shape."

Q. Should girls in their younger 20s get bob haircuts?

A. Sure. There is really no age limit on bobs. They can look good on a wide range of females. Anyone from any age--from kids to women in their 60s or older--can find a flattering bob. In fact bobbed styles are probably one of the most appropriate or "workable" styles for the greatest number of women. They can work for anyone--those in their teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, etc. Girls your age like Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba have worn bobs in their early 20s (see below), and they looked really cute.
