Simon Cowell, the despised (sort of) curmudgeon of American Idol, always complains when a contestant is too ordinary, "nothing special," or does not stand out. He says this not only about musical talent but even fashion sense.
Nadia Turner's hair certainly stood out in this memorable afro. Despite the show's success, none of the contestants nor winners have started a new hairstyle trend, and, according to an online poll, America is not ready for the return of the afro.
It still looks unprofessional, sloppy, and the "choice" of lazy people who can't afford a haircut. Lots of ridiculous white haircuts from the 1970s should never return, either. They look like the work of hairdressers who never received any formal training.
