Keira Knightley in Semi-Formal Half Ponytail at Academy Awards

Keira Knightley tried a new formal look rarely seen on the red carpet. Although you can't quite see if from these pictures, it's more dressy than it seems.

It caught the attention of beauty editors at Sophisticate's Hairstyle Guide, who offered the following comment:

"Who knew a ponytail could be so red-carpet worthy? It's all in the accessories. . . Hair is pulled to top back of crown and secured with a clear ponytail holder, then a velvet ribbon with a jeweled accent."
